The Adventures of Jet are a nice departure from the typical pop-punk band. They trade in the usual monotonous guitar chords for new wave synth pop and the songs tend to be written more in a pop mindset than the formula pop-punk.

This is basically a really fun sythn pop album with a pop-punk treatment. The vocals trend towards the usual pop-punk variety but with a better than average delivery. The experimental nature of the music gives this a cd a refreshing quality.

Highlights: "One Last Kiss" this song is almost hypnotic and showcases the band's melding of pop-punk and synth dominated new wave.  "Home, Where I Always Lose," the keyboards in this song gives it a haunting nature but that's set against straight ahead pop choruses.

Bottom Line: A really well done album that is outside of the box. It might not be for everyone but those who can tap into the magic here should really enjoy this CD.
