Vibe Hits Vol.
1
Label: Arista
Records
Tracks:
Welcome to the wonderful of world of
the compilation CD. Arista's latest release, "Vive Hits" blends the heavy
hitters, pop staples and up & comers for this R & B/Urban release.
Each artist, from 702, to Deborah Cox, Q Tip, Tyrese and Pink, just to
name a few have easily been able to hold their own in the music world.
However, when you team them up on one CD, you end up with well over an
hour of some of the strongest talent in the R & B/Urban music scene.
The flow of the CD is somewhat choppy, which can throw the listener off
at times. The placement of Pink's "There You Go" and TLC's remix of "Unpretty"
between much stronger tracks as Goodie Mob's "Get Rich To This" and Donnell
Jones "U Know What's Up", might have the listener questioning if the more
pop tracks should have been placed on another compilation. All in all,
the tracks are some of the most popular in music today. For someone who
isn't a fan of all the music of each artist on the CD, but want to get
a well-rounded sampling of what's current in the R & B/Urban music
scene, this is the compilation to buy.
