Peter Frampton - Acoustic Classics

.
Some long-time Frampton fans who are still babying-along the vinyl copy of Frampton Comes Alive! that they bought 40-years ago may not realize that the golden boy never stopped putting out new records. This one though, while newly-released, is a reminiscence as Frampton plays a set of his hits and favorites in a stripped-down acoustic setting. The effort opens with an unexpected treat in "Fig Tree Bay;" the tune is sequentially the first song on Wind of Change, Frampton's solo debut, so for many fans (back in the days of playing albums from start to finish) the song is where it all started. Wind of Change would also yield the first Frampton classic in "All I Want to Be (Is by Your Side)," here featuring just Peter's acoustic guitar playing and instantly-recognizable voice, perfectly mellowed yet still evocative of the era when many Baby Boomers were beginning their musical heyday. All the biggies are here including "Show Me the Way," "Lines on My Face," "Baby I Love Your Way," "I'm in You" and "Do You Feel Like I Do." Frampton skips the use of the "talk box" effect on "Do You Feel Like I Do" but he does employ it on "Show Me the Way." Acoustic Classics will be a very pleasant surprise for many Frampton fans while also giving them an idea of the kind of new music he produces today.Get it here.
