Pete Scobell Band - Walkin a Wire

.
When your resume already includes entries like Navy Seal, mountain climber, competitive athlete and inspirational advocate, what's to do next? How about country singer! Actually Pete Scobell, who has the impressive credentials listed above, has been pickin' and singin' for quite some time now, but now with the release of Walkin a Wire, a career in music becomes official. So the question is, is this just a vanity project or is Scobell the real thing? It doesn't take but a quick listen to realize that the answer is the latter. "Aint Gonna Waste It" leans towards outlaw country while "Guns & Roses" is a mid-tempo reminiscence of the good parts of a love affair since gone bad; a similar feeling of lost love permeates the understated "Disappear." Scobell is not at this point recording his own songs but he proves here to be adept at interpretation of cuts penned by the likes of Cole Swindell and Dierks Bentley. A late album highlight is a new version of "Hearts I Leave Behind," a cut that Scobell formerly recorded with Wynonna Judd that is a tribute to late Navy Seal Chris Kyle. So in the end Scobell is revealed here as a man of the people who loves his country, isn't afraid to show some emotion, respects country music tradition and yes, he can surely sing.

Pete will be performing on the Kid Rock Cruise which will be sailing from March 10th - 14th.
