Here's a very diverse compilation of hip holiday tunes including "Christmas Wrapping" from the Waitresses, Dave Edmunds' take on the rave-up "Run Rudolph Run," Fishbone toning down their normal sound for the honestly sad "Slick Nick, You Devil You" and RUN-D.M.C. rapping out "Christmas in Hollis." Bob & Doug McKenzie's goofy "Twelve Days of Christmas" is included as are "Zat You Santa Claus" by Buster Poindexter and his Banshees of Blue, "Last Christmas" from Wham!, "Silent Night" by the Hooters and seven others.
Corvus - "Can You Hear the Sleigh Bells Ringing?" - There are two groups currently operating under the Corvus moniker; this is the UK-based band representing here with a bright and jangly slice of holiday pop rock that'll make you want to get out and romp in some freshly-fallen snow.
Ed Ivey - "Christmas Deer Hunt" - "We're going to shoot a Christmas buck!" Here's a fun sing-along about the joys of hunting for the holidays set to an old time country beat with a bit of Cajun fiddle thrown in. Maybe a coincidence but this song about bagging a buck sounds like something Buck Owens might have reeled off during his "Hee Haw" days.
