Late Summer Music Festivals

.
The summer music festival season keeps rolling on! No matter where in the world you're headed there's music and fun awaiting you.

Stockholm Music & Arts
Stockholm, Sweden August 3-5
This festival takes place on Stockholm's beautiful Skeppsholmen Island and the setting will surely inspire the eclectic group of artists set to perform: Anthony and the Johnsons, Patti Smith, Marianne Faithful, Frida Hyvonen, Laleh, Emmylou Harris, Tinariwen, Ane Brun, Amanda Jenssen, Bjork, Buffy Sainte-Marie and iamamiwhoami. www.visitstockholm.com

Beloved Sacred Art And Music Festival
Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon August 10-13
The forest setting for this world music festival is in Oregon's Coast Range about two hours outside of Portland. In addition to the music there'll be healing lectures, yoga and a camping area that overall will give festival-goers a holistic musical spa-like experience. Scheduled to perform are kirtan chanter David Stringer, the Everyone Orchestra, Garifuna singer Aurelio Martinez, dance floor shamans Lulacruza and more. www.belovedfestival.com

Sweetwater Blues And Brews Festival
Rock Springs, Wyoming August 11
If you're headed to Yellowstone to see bears and bison why not stop off in nearby Rock Springs to enjoy two other fascinating "b's": blues and beer! This year's headliners are the Eric Jerardi Band, Randy McAllister, Hamilton Loomis and Lionel Young. There's a lot of other stuff to do in Sweetwater County too; you can explore the expansive Flaming Gorge Lake, rugged terrain full of hiking trails, camping, fishing and biking spots and even places to see where dinosaurs took their last plodding steps. www.tourwyoming.com

The Power Of The Riff
Los Angeles, California August 11
Back for a third go-round, TPOTR takes place at L.A. nightclub the Echoplex and will feature Sunn O))), Off!, Dr. Know, Repulsion, Noothgrush, Xibalba, Eagle Twin, Power Trip, Ancestors, Gaza, DNF, Cops, Bio-Crisis and many others. There will also be a record swap meet, pop-up indie label stores, curated DJ sets and food available from some of L.A.'s best gourmet food trucks. www.thepoweroftheriff.com
