After the Fire - Colorado Springs is Open for Business

.
The wildfires that have been wreaking havoc across the west have hit Colorado particularly hard and among the losses in the Colorado Springs area is the Flying W Ranch, a working cattle ranch that had been in operation since 1953 and that has for years entertained visitors with Western-themed dinners and shows. The Flying W plans to rebuild but in the meantime the folks in Colorado Springs and at the Pike's Peak Country Attractions Association want you to know that the fires are out, the air is clear and all highways have been re-opened. That means you can freely enjoy the gorgeous scenery at places like the fabled Pike's Peak, at and on the drive to the Garden of the Gods and at the Cave of the Winds. There are approximately 25 other main attractions in the area including the Pike's Peak Cog Railway, the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Echo Canyon River Expeditions, the Ghost Town Museum, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, the Iron Springs Melodrama Dinner Theater and for animal lovers of all ages, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Colorado Springs is located an hour south of Denver. To plan your trip, visit www.pikes-peak.com
