All the songs on Armour follow the same recipe, tight danceable melodies and beats with clean rhythms and sing along lyrics. The music has an intelligent college feel and I would expect some of the tunes to eventually make it into dance clubs wherever the band has toured. Some of the songs may have a slightly retro sound but I would call them more neoretro as the music gives off a new shiny feel to an old ambiance. Most of the tunes are pretty upbeat with 1 true ballad and a couple of semi ballads thrown in but all crafted in the same mold.
For their first disc I congratulate Bamboo Shoots for making some catchy, memorable, danceable pop/rock songs.(definitely more pop than rock) So if your into and enjoy any pop music what so ever, I would recommend giving Bamboo Shoots' Armour a listen. They seem to be on the right path.
Useless Information: In researching Bamboo Shoots and reading a lot of the articles and bio's written everyone seems to be highlighting the fact that all the members are of Indian decent which really doesn't matter IMO as long as the music is listenable. It is also why I saved that information for this section of my review.
