Although Galore Galore doesn't showcase any radical change from Sponges latest releases it seems to be a shot at getting the sound of the groups first 2 discs back. The collection highlights the bands ability to make songs inviting enough that you can't help singing along after you become familiar with them. There are 11 tracks on the album with most being rockers and a couple semiballads thrown in. Some of my favorite tunes off the disc would have to be "No DOA On Sunday," "Skill Of The Kill"(sounds like a STP or V. Revolver tune) and "I Did It Without The Drugs" which I still can't get the chorus out of my head. In my opinion Sponge has scored well with this offering and hopefully this lineup will endure for at least another couple of albums as I will be sure to check out any new releases from this group.
Useless Information: Sponge can make the claim that they played one of the very last concerts ever at Detroit's Tiger Stadium when in 1996 they we're picked to fill in for Stone Temple Pilots due to Scott Weiland having one of his off days.
