This band also infuses a lot of humor in their lyrics. In "Rooster Run," the singer says "somebody please tell me where that 20-foot chicken came from." I'd like to know the answer to that too. In " I Love Las Vegas," amid the twang of a pedal steel, you hear someone doing his best Elvis impression asking for a peanut butter and banana sandwich. "Phone Ain't Ringin'" includes the classic lyrics, "When your phone ain't ringin', you'll know it's me."
All of these are pretty good examples but the song that made me laugh the hardest was "Drag Queen." This is a song you'll just have to check out for yourself.
But I don't want you to think that The Earps are all about being funny. These guys rock hard. Their catchy melodies will have your toes a-tappin' for sure, and their hard-driving guitars and drums will make you want to pump your fist. I haven't had the chance to see these guys yet, but after feeling the energy on this album, I guess they must be outstanding live. This is a tremendous album with 11 really good songs. If you're looking for something you can rock out to, look no further than The Earps.
