Sarah McLachlan made me love The Perishers. "Pills" off Let There Be Morning, a cut teetering on the line between too much emotion and just the right mix of vocals drew me right in. A Similar quality exists in Victorious, and it's a little surprising that The Perishers can ride through another cd on mostly slow, twangy cuts.

This time around the band's sound aligns itself with Ryan Adams' new release, Easy Tiger, with wispy, lyric focused vocals and an affectionate piano driving the record. However, I wouldn't rank many of the twelve tracks at Adams' level, and it's not certain that The Perishers' can keep up such a soft style for the rest of their careers.
