Deluge Songs is a twelve track compilation stacked with many songs that I would expect could make it on the radio, showcasing some catchy hooks and melodies. It's a sound that you'd expect from a Foo Fighters crossed with Puddle of Mudd band just not quite as dynamic and slightly mellower. The tunes are guitar driven and Ian Fairclough's vocals have a slight grunge punk resonance. But yes sorry there is a but coming, the album as a whole seems kind of bland with nothing to grab hold of and sink your teeth in.
The two best tracks in my opinion would probably be the leadoff track Captain of the Simpletons and the third song Disappearing Act. I do have to admit after I started researching this band I noticed everyone saying great things about them and their music like "this is the best album they've heard all year" and "TD is a phenomenal band that's about to conquer the world". Those are pretty bold statements. Not being familiar with their first album I was intrigued to hear this "band about to conquer world's" music. After my first listen to the disc I wasn't impressed at all but I will admit after the third or fourth time through a few of the tunes sort of grew on me but definitely nothing ground breaking and not even close to the best album I've heard all year but its in no way the worse either.
