Jock Bartley - Blindside Review

by Sherrill Fulghum

.
This Kansas born artist was destined to be a creative sort with his mother being a musician and his father a Navy flight instructor and artist. Today making his home in Colorado he is a noted musician and artist in his own right.

In the seventies Jock Bartley was best known as the lead guitar player for Firefall. After three gold and two platinum album with Firefall, Jock has released his first solo album "Blindside".

Jock's solo work picks up where he left of with Firefall singing songs of love and life like the beautiful "Veronica So Fair" which is mixed in among the rock and country style tunes. Bartley enlisted an all star cast to play with him on "Blindside; joining Bartley are members from Firefall, Poco, Heart, Buffalo Springfield, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Warren Zevon's band, Frank Zappa's band, and The String Cheese Incident.

While the 13 songs on "Blindside" are original tunes there is an unmistakable similarity to the music made popular by Firefall years ago. "Blindside" is a must have for Firefall fans.
