Earlier this year the band was scheduled to appear as a part of the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas; but due to visa issues the band missed the show. Austin's loss has become New York City's gain. Hypernova has played a few shows in New York to enthusiastic and appreciative crowds.
Music is a universal language that has no boundaries. For ages it has been used to inspire love, peace, and unity. This is the message that Hypernova is sending by sharing their music.
Like the younger generation of the fifties in the United States who only wanted to hear and play their kind of music; so does Hypernova and other bands like them. With a vast majority of the Iranian population under the age of 35, the younger generation is seeking to merely evolve the musical world to include their kind of music.
Why the name Hypernova? The name signifies a massive explosion like matter in space and these four young men have exploded on to the musical scene destined to make their mark on the world.
Cyndi Lauper had a hit with the song "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"; well, these guys just want to have some fun playing music. This quartet of enterprising young men have taught themselves to play; and while Raam is the primary songwriter; the entire band contributes to the creative process.
Raam believes that music is the best drug in the world. He's right! There's nothing else in the world like music.
