Cherry Suede Review

by Sherrill Fulghum

.
We have all heard the horror stories about lost luggage on airplanes. We have either known someone who went through it or experienced it ourselves. But imagine that sort of thing happening with a truck load of your furniture! Montreal's Rand Scott and Randy young don't have to imagine it they lived it.

Better known as Cherry Suede named for a pillow given to them while waiting on the truck to arrive carrying their belongings. The guys frequently would fight over who got to use the pillow each night. The two Randy's met in a Montreal studio. It was after deciding to form the band with no name - that they decided to travel across the continent to live in Los Angeles.

Finally settled with their stuff Cherry Suede has released a self-titled debut album of 10 tracks that cover that ever popular topic love, and its many aspects.

Cherry Suede shows a bit of the softer side of rock and roll. Being touted as the next Bon Jovi, Cherry Suede leans a little more toward the sound of Eddie Money especially on "Not a Day Goes By" which is reminiscent of Money's hit song "Shakin'"

With catchy tunes and a singer's whose voice is well suited to the task, the self-title debut by Cherry Suede is one of those albums that will frequently find its way into the player or on the play list.
