musicNEWS : Misfits join the WCW
Below is the complete text of the press release. Atlanta - November 19, 1999 - Having conquered the worlds of horror and punk, legendary musical monsters, the Misfits have now set their sights on new challenge....a championship wrestling belt! The group first entered the ring when they made a surprise live appearance on the highly rated WCW Monday Nitro program earlier this month to help their ghoul friend, El Vampiro win his much anticipated match. Escaping into the night, the punk heroes continued on their national U.S. tour promoting their new album Famous Monsters (Roadrunner) while playing to sold out crowds. However, Misfits mania has been building to such a fever that the band has been brought back by popular demand as members of the WCW and tag team partners with Vampiro. Misfit Bassist and battler Jerry Only says about their new career in the number one sport in America today We are taking this as seriously as anything we have ever done and we are headed for the top. We are so good at being bad guys! Commenting on the alliance with Vampiro, Only went on to say he is a loyal fiend who grew up listening to our music. Hes a Misfits offspring of sorts and just as crazy. We are fierce together. To follow the further exploits of the Misfits as they crush any opponents foolish enough to face them, tune in to WCWs Monday Nitro and Thunder live on TNT. To see the Misfits crush their audiences, catch them as they continue the second string of tour dates for Famous Monsters with special guest...El Vampiro! Upcoming dates are as follows: Sun 11/21 WCW PAY PER VIEW TORONTO
