musicNEWS : Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductees - No Surprises
In previous articles about the Hall of Fame our readers expressed outright contempt for the organization. Get ready to be disappointed again this year. And the Inductees are......... Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lovin' Spoonful, the Moonglows and James Taylor. These artist among others will be inducted March 6 in New York City at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Is this Rock n Roll? The Waldorf-Astoria? Not that we have problems with their choices. But this years class of inductees was indeed small. Once again the people behind the scenes outright ignored Black Sabbath. Aerosmith was passed over as well. But hey, The Moonglows got in! Queen, Steely Dan, Richie Valens, Solomon Burke, the O'Jays and Lou Reed round out the list of artist not inducted this year. Why are we giving this any press at all? We are a music site, but it seems the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is at odds with our core audience. Good thing you asked. Earlier this year when our sister site, Rocknworld.com, announced that Black Sabbath, KISS, Aerosmith and others were eligible, a fan suggested that we do our own Hall of Fame. The nominations for Our Rock n Pop Hall of Fame are open, and unlike the official hall of fame, we let the fans decide who is going to be inducted. So if you want your voice heard go on over and nominate your favorite artist for inclusion in our Hall of Fame. antiGUY |
