Official word of the cancellation came from the Weezer camp with this post to their official website, ".. today we got the inside scoop on Julian from the Strokes, whose injury is still quite nasty, which we sadly learned has forced them to cancel ALL their remaining scheduled dates on the Enlightenment Tour. Julian isn't even able to leave his home for now, but the rest of the Strokes came by to show their support and catch the big rock show. Well, I guess you win some and you lose some. Bummer."
Below is the original article:
Fans who expected to see the Stokes open for Weezer on their current tour this week will be left disappointed as The Strokes have cancelled their appearances this week due to an unspecified injury.
Details are sketchy about the injury that cause the band to pull out of three schedule appearance this week: Mondays show in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (July 15) Tonights show in Noblesville, In (July 17) and tomorrow nights show in Columbus, Ohio (July 18).
Because the band has been tight lipped about the specifics of the injury that cause these cancellations, speculations are running wild. The most prevalent rumor is that lead vocalist, Julian Casablancas, injured his knee but we have had no confirmation of this.
We do know that the Strokes are planning to head out on a headlining tour this Fall in support of their hit album, Is This It. Dates have not yet been announced but the bands official website states that the tour will take place this October and November.
