  U2 Top Grammy Nominations.

Ah the Grammy nominations. It must be January again. Late last week The Recording Academy announced the nominees for this year�s award ceremony.  U2 topped the list with eight nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year ("Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of"), two nominations for Best Rock Song ("Elevation" and "Walk On."), and Record of the Year (�Walk On�)

Last year the group walked away with Song and Record of the year for their single �Beautiful Day�. 

Newcomers India.Aria and Alicia Keys also placed big in this year�s nominations. India.Aria ended up with seven nominations including best female R&B vocal performance and best R&B song and Album. Alicia Keys  faired well with six nominations including Record and Song of the year. 

In the Best Metal Performance category Slayer will go head to head with Slipknot, System of a Down, Tool and Black Sabbath. 

This is the 44th time The Recording Academy will host the Grammy Awards. The ceremony will take place on February 27th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live in the U.S. on CBS.
