If you thought Eminem and Elton John were a strange pairing try this one on for size, David Bowie and p.diddy.  The Associated Press reported over the weekend that David Bowie and Sean Combs (aka p.diddy, puff daddy and j.lo�s former sugar daddy) are teaming up for a remake of Bowie�s �This is Not America�. 

Bowie and Combs are recording the song, now retitled �American Dream� for the �Training Day� soundtrack. The film stars Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke and will hit theatres September 21st. 

According to the AP report Bowie and Combs had the following to say about the ziggy.diddy project. 

Bowie: ``� This looked like a really good piece of work to work on. So we decided to get together and collaborate on it.'' 

Combs: ``And I'm going to do my thing. We're just going to have a big old fusion of flavor.  And hopefully we'll make a hit record that represents the movie but ... isn't just for the movie. Where it's also a hit record. That's what the mission is, to make a hit record.''
