While Paul McCartney has firmed up plans for his �Concert for New York� set to hit Madison Square Garden on October 20th featuring McCartney, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Goo Goo Dolls, James Taylor, Jim Carrey, John Mellencamp, Macy Gray, Melissa Etheridge, Mick Jagger and The Who, another show is being planned for Washington D.C. the following day.
The Washington D.C. benefit concert will take place October 21st at the RFK Stadium. Thus far artists confirmed for the benefit include Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, James Brown, Mick Jagger, KISS, Ricky Martin, N Sync, The Backstreet Boys, Al Green a d Aaron Carter. Organizers expect a few more artists to be added to the lineup.
Tickets for the all day benefit concert will go on sale through Ticket Master on October 12th. Fans can also log on to www.cc.com to purchase tickets.
Proceeds from the concert will be distributed
to The American Red Cross Relief Fund, the Pentagon Relief Fund, and The
Salvation Army Relief Fund.
