The members of Staind must have been nervous going into last week knowing that a new Radiohead release threatened to end their current reign at the top of the Billboard Charts. Now that the dust has settled, they have emerged unscathed by the battle and log their third consecutive week at no. 1. But it was a close battle!
Radioheads latest Amnesiac sold over 231,000 copies last week but that was 13,000 short of the third week sales for Stainds Break the Cycle. Radioheads last CD, Kid A debuted at No. 1 last October but despite stronger first week sales for Amnesiac it just wasnt enough to overcome Staind.
Elsewhere on the charts. Tool dropped four places to No. 8.
The other notable rock debut last week
was the return of The Cult. Their latest effort, Beyond Good and Evil
broke the Top 40 by debuting on the charts at no. 37.
