Singled Out: Jackson Penn's Streetlight To Mars
. Streetlights on Mars is about a feeling of disorientation-not knowing where you're going but loving the ride. I was living in New York but came to Los Angeles for a wedding where I met a girl who I fell in love with. Between the overwhelming feelings I had when I saw her and the few too many drinks I consumed that night, I was extremely disoriented. When you're in love, or just present in life, the most mundane things can feel surreal. That night the streetlights on Main St looked like streetlights on Mars. That disorientation lasted for months, and still hasn't faded. I hope it never does. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself right here!
