Singled Out: K Phillips' Had Enough
. ![]() K Phillips released his brand new studio album "Dirty Wonder" today (March 10th) and to celebrate we asked him to tell us the story behind the song "Had Enough". Here is the story: "Had Enough" was inspired by a veteran friend whose tank was hit by an IED. She began writing songs as a way of therapy. She said, "Since beginning to write songs, my nightmares are not what they used to be." She is a hero and she inspired this song. This song is about leaving. I don't need to be with someone to be happy, but here I am, living with someone, getting in fights, wasting my time, losing sleep, growing nothing. "And I kicked against the pricks/ just to fall upon a rose/ I watched her bloom before me and I watched her close" This song is about letting go of the things you think you need. It was a hard lesson to learn. I seem to keep having to learn this lesson. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
