The Damned Announce Limited Edition Anniversary Release
. ![]() The Damned will be celebrating a milestone anniversary later this month with a limited edition release. On October 22nd, 1976 the band made history by becoming the first UK punk band to release a single. The group, which is still going strong to this day, has announced that they will mark the anniversary with the release of a special limited edition 7" anniversary edition of the "New Rose" single. The vinyl is set to be released by BMG on November 4th and will include the original artwork, picture disc and an exclusive fold out poster, according to the announcement. The band is also celebrating the anniversary with three sold out U.S. shows. The first show in Los Angeles will be taking place on October 27th at the Belasco Theater, followed by a two night stand at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on October 29th and 30th.
