Bruce Springsteen Does Stand Up For Heroes
. ![]() (Radio.com) Bruce Springsteen, along with several other notable names, performed at the Stand Up for Heroes event in New York this past Tuesday night (Nov.1). Held annually, the event aims to raise money for wounded veterans. Springsteen performed an acoustic set of four songs, which included "Working on the Highway," "I'll Work for Your Love," "Long Walk Home" and wrapped up with "Dancing in the Dark." Besides playing music, Springsteen has a tradition of telling jokes when he plays Stand Up for Heroes. "So there's this 80-year-old couple," he told attendees. "They're in an alley up against the fence and they're screwing like crazy. I mean, arms are flying, legs are flying, and they're screwing and screwing and screwing. They just fall down from exhaustion and the wife says, 'You didn't screw me like that 50 years ago!' The man says, '50 years ago that fence wasn't electrified" (via Rolling Stone). Read more here.
