Lou Reed's Final Project Being Released This Fall
. ![]() (Radio.com) Since the icon's death in 2013, the Lou Reed estate has worked to finish Reed's "final project," a box set of recordings entitled The RCA & Arista Album Collection. A long and painstaking remaster of tracks from the '70s and '80s culminated in the commemorative collection, due for release on October 7. Reed's wife and collaborator Laurie Anderson said the box set contains the recordings in all their original, imperfect glory. "Lou put his heart into remastering these records," she said in a statement. "They are not smoothed out. Sometimes remastering revealed their details and roughness in the most exciting ways.
