Tom Delonge Wanted Blink-182 To Sound Like Coldplay?

(Radio.com) Blink-182's Travis Barker told YouTube personality Mr. Wavvy that several years into their success, former guitarist/singer Tom Delonge proposed a U2--or Coldplay--tinged sound that didn't agree with his bandmates.

'Mark [Hoppus] and I never wanted to change," he said. "The last couple of albums, Tom wanted to sound like U2, to record songs that basically sound like Coldplay.

"For us, we were always like 'Blink is Blink, man. We want to sound like f-ing Blink-182. That's what side-projects are for. I love Blink for what it is. We love Blink and we love the sound of Blink." Read more here.
