Singled Out: Graveyard Lovers' Storm
. ![]() Zach Reynolds from Graveyard Lovers tells us the story being their single "Storm", which comes from their brand new album "Past The Forest of the Fruitless Thoughts". Here is the story: "Storm" was the first song that Tricia and I wrote with my bother Joel. He finally had enough time off from his other bands and we were living in the same city for the first time in ten years. Joel is one of the best rock bass players I've ever heard and the bass line in that song lets it show. It grows, changes and rarely repeats the same part twice, all while holding down the general groove. The whole album is filled with parts like this and I love them. When we started working on this song it was clearly a new direction for the band and we were excited. At the same time we were all going through personal changes in our lives. I work on the lyrics to songs for periods of weeks at a time as I stew over what Im trying to say etc. During this time I had an intense dream about a huge storm on the horizon. I think the storm signified big change coming and thats how the words came about. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the album right here!
