. Speaking with Huffington Post, Monaghan recounted the moment he finished auditioning for Lord of the Rings at London casting agency Hubbard's. Afterwards, Monaghan was asked to stick around for a few minutes and receive feedback. From there, things took a memorable turn. "As I was reading a magazine waiting, David Bowie came in and signed his little list and went in," Monaghan recalled. "And I'm assuming he read for Gandalf.
