(Radio.com) Collaborations between musical artists are fairly commonplace these days. But that doesn't mean that the artists themselves are numb during the act of performing. In fact, many of them are like giddy with emotion. Such was the case when Cage The Elephant frontman Matt Shultz played with Weezer.

Shultz explained his fandom to Radio.com. "When I was a kid I was so obsessed with Weezer and recently I got a chance to perform the song, "Island in the Sun" with them on stage and it was just like that fifteen year-old self kind of freaking out."

Thanks to fan footage, we can watch Shultz talking about the collaboration while on stage with his idols at a concert in Portland, Oregon. "If I could see my fifteen year-old self, I would say 'keep doing what you're doing 'cause one day you're going to sing a song with Weezer."

Jokingly, Rivers Cuomo, Weezer's frontman adds, "A dream come true for everyone involved," just before jumping into an acoustic performance of the crowd favorite. Watch it here.
