DJ Khaled Inspired Yo Gotti To Make 'Down In The DM'
. "I recorded the record ["Goin Down in the DM"] in Khaled's studio," he told hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian "B.dot" Miller. "I played him my album and asked 'What you think missing?' He told me, '[I was missing] a tempo.' I started making them tempo records. One of them was 'Down in the DM'." But Gotti didn't have high expectations for the song at first. "I just put it on the tape," he said. "I ain't gonna try to take no credit for being, like, 'I knew it was the joint.' It was just another song to me. I make four, five songs a day. I'm not even dwelling into the music that long." Gotti also revealed that the remix to the song, featuring Nicki Minaj, was a last minute play that barely made the final cut. "The craziest s- is I got the verse the day before the pre-order went up," he said. "You talkin' about taking the album off iTunes and reloading it back up' it's almost an impossible thing to do. Nobody thinks you can clear a Nicki verse in 24 hours Not only did we get the verse but we got it cleared in 24 hours and up on iTunes and out." Read more here.
