Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancel Shows Due To Family Emergency
. ![]() (hennemusic) Lynyrd Skynyrd were forced to cancel a pair of concerts in Las Vegas this past weekend due to a family emergency 'of the greatest degree' affecting singer Johnny Van Zant. "Lynyrd Skynyrd's performances on December 2nd and 3rd at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas have been cancelled," announced the band via their social media sites. "Johnny Van Zant has a family emergency of the greatest degree. Lynyrd Skynyrd looks forward to returning to The Golden Nugget in 2017. Please contact The Golden Nugget box office for refunds." No details regarding Van Zant's personal situation have been made public at this time. The singer contracted bronchitis in July while on the road this past summer, although his illness did not affect the group's schedule.
