Bruce Springsteen Kicks Off Summer Tour Dates
. ![]() (hennemusic) Bruce Springsteen resumed his U.S .dates on The River Tour at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on August 23rd and several videos for the show have surfaced online. The 9-show, 3-week run is in support of last December's release of "The Ties That Bind: The River Collection", a 7-disc collection of material from the sessions for 1980's double album "The River." The 35-song set ran close to four hours in length, reports Billboard, and the singer was joined by a string section for the night's opener, "New York City Serenade", from 1974's "The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle." Springsteen played three songs by request from signs in the crowed, including a rare summer performance of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." The night ended with a cover of Tom Waits' "Jersey Girl."
