Peter Hook Announces Book About New Order
. ![]() (Gibson) Peter Hook, the former New Order and Joy Division bassist who's recently toured their material as Peter Hook and the Light, has announced a new book. The 768-page, complete biography of New Order, titled Substance: Inside New Order, is out October 6 via Simon & Schuster UK. Hook will cover the band's formation in the wake of Joy Division and Ian Curtis's suicide and offer a "no-holds-barred, comprehensive account of the band's entire history," according to the press release. "We didn't really think about it afterwards," Hook writes of Curtis's death. "It just sort of happened.
