Tom DeLonge Makes New Film With Teen Wolf Star Tyler Posey
. The new film was written and directed by the former Blink-182 star and also features Dylan Sprayberry ("Man of Steel"), Taylor Spreitler ("Melissa & Joey") and Samantha Logan ("The Fosters"). DeLonge expects to release the still-untitled film later this year. He says the film is "a brief and modest look into the mythology of the Poet Anderson universe. Meant to be a bit ambiguous and artistic, the plot traces the edge of a girl having recurring dreams of a boy at her school. While the dreams are romantic, fun and adventurous, a real threat exists requiring someone there at all times to protect her." Posey will play Poet Anderson and had this to say about the project, "As a big fan of Tom's, I knew all about the Poet franchise and couldn't have been more stoked to be a part of it. "And I was so humbled that he picked me to bring Poet to life. It was nothing short of a dream to work with him, let alone having him compliment me on my work and feeling like a true friend of his rather than just a work partner. He's a real genuine, ambitious and inspiring person that I love calling a friend." DeLonge explains how Posey became involved, "I was introduced to Tyler through some common friends, and after a brief conversation it became very apparent we needed to work together. He was a passionate guy, and desiring opportunities to create art that was out of the box and forward-thinking. This made him a great match for the way I think. "Tyler, as a person, has a gravity and calmness that came through on this film. He added 'cool' to the Poet character, a steady hand of youth and bravado. The emotional range he brought showed the heart, and passion for what a 'Poet' doesand is." Find more details about the A Conversation With Tom DeLonge event at the Grammy Museum here.
