KISS Set Record With Most Gold Albums
. The RIAA announced this week that the band has now earned a total of 30 gold albums, which includes 26 studio albums from the band as well as their 1978 solo albums. The band has also earned 14 platinum album awards for one million in sales in the U.S. of each title and three multi-platinum awards. The Gold Album certification is awarded for 500,000 copies of an album sold in the U.S. RIAA Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman had this to say, "Congratulations to KISS - the new Gold standard for albums by American bands. What an extraordinary achievement for an enduring band. Forty years later and the band is still rocking. Congratulations to KISS on their Gold album milestone and continued success."
