Sanaa Lathan Reveals Debut Single 'Emotional' Featuring DeJ Loaf

. (Radio.com) Actress Sanaa Lathan has had major success at movie box offices and is now trying her hand at music. Lathan teamed up with Detroit rapper DeJ Loaf for her debut single titled "Emotional."

The song was produced by Detail, the man behind Beyonce's hit "Drunk In Love" and features additional production by Choppa & Sidney. "Emotional" came about after a conversation between Sanaa and Detail. Once Detail saw Lathan's latest film, The Perfect Guy, he commented on how emotional Lathan's co-star Michael Ealy was in the thriller.

Lathan introduced the single via her Instagram. She posted a photo of her in the studio with the caption, "Life can be amazing when you step outside your comfort zone sometimes and say yes. Who woulda thought I'd have a single out. 'I'm thinking of this as character I'm playing singing this song. She's my character Leah's (in #ThePerfectGuy) ALTER EGO and her name is #BrownSugar."
