Phish Announce Three Night Stand At Riviera Maya In Mexico
. Phish is following a trend set by Furthur, My Morning Jacket and others who have played Caribbean destination concerts to the delight of their dedicated fans. It marks Phish's first-ever concert resort event. Trey Anastasio and company will perform three concerts during the four-day all-inclusive event. According to a press release, "the stage sits just a few feet away from the Caribbean Sea providing an incredible beach backdrop for the shows." Surely the band will take the opportunity to celebrate their geographically related tracks like 'Mexican Cousin," 'A Song I Heard the Ocean Sing," "Wading in the Velvet Sea" "Water in the Sky" and 'N.I.C.U.," which contains the line, 'A slipper, a sand dollar, day at the shore," which always gets a roar out of the audience. Perhaps the band will dust off their classic cover of The Who's 'Sea and Sand" and 'Drowned" during the three-night extravaganza. Read more here.
