(Radio.com) Pop star Justin Timberlake was honored in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday (Oct. 17) with an induction into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and he performed an Otis Redding classic with Sam Moore.

Both Jimmy Fallon and Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul were on hand to share some kind words and hilarious stories about their friend as part of the intro speeches.

When Timberlake got up to accept his honor, he said, "This is the f**king coolest thing that has ever happened to me." Justin also mentioned that he wanted to keep representing his city and wishes to "continue to return the favor [to Memphis and his peers] for as long as he lives and has breath."

After he accepted his honor, Justin paid homage to one of Memphis's soul legend's Otis Redding. Justin, along with Sam Moore, performed one of Redding's most beloved songs "(Sitting on) The Dock of the Bay." Timberlake and Moore showed off their playful side with an improvised lounge act banter before breaking out in song.
