(Radio.com) Justin Timberlake is a pop star with an appreciation country music. Although "Drink You Away" appears on his 2013 album The 20/20 Experience, Timberlake recently released it to country radio based on the song's popularity after he and Chris Stapleton performed it live.

Could it be that he and longtime producer Timbaland are thinking about switching genres and exploring their country roots for a change?Timbaland spoke with TMZ earlier this week via video chat and hinted about the possibility.

"We are country," he said. "[Justin's] from Tennessee, I'm from Virginia. It's only right that we try to tap into what we was raised in. We was raised in the country. That's who we are. We love love songs, we heard our parents sing them, the old country songs. But now it's a new generation of country. "Drink You Away" was done on The 20/20 Experience. It's now one of the biggest songs. But we always wanted to do country music. We thought some of our lyrics were country."

Timbaland admits that he's interested in breaking into country music, especially since he's already got a property in Nashville. Read more here.
