The National's Grateful Dead Tribute Album Will Be Released In 2016

(Radio.com) The National have been working on a compilation album with many indie rock stars covering the music of the Grateful Dead for many years now. It appears the project may finally be seeing the light of day.

In an extensive interview with Stereogum, members of The National went into great detail about their career at this point. One of the big revelations coming from the interview is the news of the compilation's release in early 2016.

As it stands, it'll be a massive release. Aaron Dessner points out that The National have received around 70 contributions to the project. Musicians contributing to the project include The War On Drugs, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. Read more here.
