Sinead O'Connor Will Stop Performing 'Nothing Compares 2 U'

. (Radio.com) Sinead O'Connor is making headlines once again. But this time it's not for what she's done, it's for what she won't be doing anymore. In a Facebook post, O'Connor announced after 25 years she will no longer sing her hit song "Nothing Compares 2 U" at upcoming shows.

"OK, the time has come for me to cease singing Nothing Compares 2U," she wrote. "The first principle of the manner in which I'm trained as a singer (Bel Canto) is we never sing a song we don't emotionally identify with."

O'Connor says it was nine months ago, when she just couldn't muster up an emotional response to the Prince-penned track. So why is she making this announcement? Simple. "I don't want audiences to be disappointed coming along to a show and then not hearing it," she wrote. Read more here.
