Ronnie James Dio Remembrance Weekend Details Revealed
. The details for the Ronnie James Dio Remembrance Weekend have been announced. It will take place in Los Angeles, CA on the 5th anniversary of the legendary metal singer's death from gastric cancer. The celebration weekend will happen on May 15th, 16th and 17th and will include a public Memorial Service, the Bowl For Ronnie Celebrity Bowling Tournament and the inaugural Ride For Ronnie motorcycle ride and BBQ. The special events will kick off on Friday May 15th with the Bowl For Ronnie Celebrity Bowling Tournament at Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City, CA. The bowling event will also include pizza and entertainment as well as a silent auction that will features collectible bowling pins signed by Metallica, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, YES, Anthrax and more that will raise money for The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund. Fans can get tickets here. The next day a free public Memorial Service is scheduled at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills where several of Dio's former band members and friends are expected to speak and perform his music. The final event, the Ride For Ronnie motorcycle ride and BBQ, will take place on Sunday, May 17th. The ride will kick off in Glendale and conclude at Los Encinos Historical Park in Encino where the BBQ will take place. The BBQ will include food and drinks as well as live music by Ronnie's former bandmates and friends, raffle prizes, live auction and more.
