Singled Out: Heavy Glow's Domino (Black Flowers)
. This is a very sarcastic and suggestively disturbing song. It represents a chapter in my life that I'm very happy to close out. The lyrics are pretty literal. I'll try not to give the whole thing away, but I was seeing a girl in San Diego. I remember taking her out to a bar in Pacific Beach and fighting for her attention literally the entire night. We'd been talking for a while. She was the kind of you couldn't easily read so I went above-and-beyond to show my interest. I took her out for dinner and drinks afterwards. Paid for everything. At the end she insisted upon me dropping her off to spend the night at another dude's house. Total bummer. Felt like a big fat slap to the groin. So when the lyrics say talk about her in high heels strutting right to his doorYeah, I felt every step of that along the way. Should've just dumped her hot Colombian butt along the side of the road, but instead I let it eat me up. I sent her flowers for awhile after that until I saw her one day about a month later with bruises under her eye. Go figure. If you want to catch this girl, apparently abuse was the only way to get through. Not my thing. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the new animated video here and learn more about the limited edition vinyl release of the album here and grab their current summer tour dates right here!
