Sheeran said that, after a long night of drinking at the R&B singer's house in Toronto, it was suggested that the two might get together the next day and write a song.

"In my head I'm like, 'The Weeknd doesn't want to write a song! The Weeknd doesn't want to work with anyone,'" Sheeran said. "He's got one feature on his album, which is Kanye West. He doesn't want to do that."
