One Direction's Louis Tomlinson Hits Twitter Milestone
. (Radio.com) We are officially living in a world where One Direction has beat President Obama at something. It shouldn't come as a surprise however that the triumph in question exists in the world of social media--specifically for most retweets. When Obama was re-elected back in 2012, the president set the then-record for most retweets with a photo of he and the first lady hugging and a caption that said "Four more years." The tweet has since collected more than 757,400 retweets. Its reign was later disrupted by Ellen DeGeneres' famously televised selfie tweet with Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and others during last year's Oscars. And now Obama's once-second-most-retweeted tweet of all time, has been bumped again by One Direction, as Buzzfeed writer Matt Bellassai notes. As for which One Direction tweet beat out Obama? It was band member Louis Tomlinson's love note to Harry Styles, "Always in my heart @Harry_Styles . Yours, sincerely Louis." Read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
