Taylor Swift Donates $50K to Seattle Symphony
. In the note, Swift said she was inspired to donate after hearing a recording of John Luther Adams' Grammy-winning "Become Ocean." The singer added that the composition, commissioned by the Symphony, reminded her of going to her local symphony with her grandmother. In a statement Morlot wrote, "I was thrilled to hear that Taylor was moved by 'Become Ocean,'" which won a 2014 Pulitzer Prize for music. The Seattle Times also reports that Swift's donation will be used for two Seattle Symphony programs: Link Up, a music-education program for elementary-school students and its musicians' pension fund.
