Former Fugees Star Pras Sues Newspaper For $30 Million
. Such is the case with the NY Post, who just this past Sunday (Oct. 5) posted a story with the title "Ex-Fugees rapper bailed on his own 9/11 benefit concert," and yesterday (Oct. 8) saw a $30 million dollar defamation lawsuit filed against them. According to the NY Post article (via Billboard), Pras didn't show up as the headliner for a 9/11 charity event in Hell's Kitchen to benefit his Hope for Them foundation. Also among the claims was that the foundation bounced a check to the venue, falsely claimed MTV was sponsoring the event and failed to register the charity with the state. According to Pras, he "has never owned nor been an owner, director or officer of the Foundation, that he never guaranteed a performance at the event and that the event had nothing to do with 9/11."
