Madonna Uses Doctor's Note to Get Out of Jury Duty

. (Radio.com) Stars - they hate jury duty and will do anything to get out of it, just like us! According to the New York Daily News, that's exactly what Madonna did this week after being summoned for jury duty in New York. Instead of showing up for the scheduled service Tuesday (May 27) at Manhattan Supreme Court, the singer conjured a doctor's note making her exempt from the trial.

A source claimed the pop star would be able to serve jury duty sometime in the future. Norman Goodman, a county clerk, confirmed the validity of the note and added that Madonna would indeed be booked by his office for jury duty sometime down the line.

The Daily News noted that the singer has had to participate in jury duty before, though that was while she resided in California. Currently, the singer lives on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. more on this story
